What a friendly girl Gem is, she must have been dumped at the workplace she was rescued at by some mean prior owner, but she doesn't hold it against anyone!  She just kept hanging around the guard gate till someone realized she needed to be rescued!  AND she is just gorgeous, a calico and tortie look both to her! Call her a social butterfly!  She loves people and all other animals.  And she acts like a dog, as she greets you at the door and follows you around!
Shee is FIV positive, but all that means is that she should be inside which is safer for all cats anyway, to minimize his exposure to germs as his immune system is a bit compromised.
And FIV is not communicable to other cats unless its a bully, as it requires bit wounds to transmit, and Gem is no bully.   You can learn more about FIV at
