Our charming charity - a love bug!

About Charity

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Cat
  • General Color: Gray
  • Color: Solid
  • Current Age: 10 Years (best estimate)
  • Microchipped: Yes
  • Declawed: No
  • Housetrained: Yes

Charity was named that as she is our "charity case" right now.  We were asked by SVACA to rescue her when she had an eye so infected it was painful and needed removal; and the eyelid of the remaining eye needed corrective surgery.  The Eye Specialists gave us a nice discount (yeah!), but still of course a lot of money.  As for the other eye, now that the eyelid is fixed, the eye will be able to function without any further treatment, at this time.
SVACA told us she was a sweet little gray kitten (she looks Russian Blue) and they weren't misleading us - she's just a love bug and very outgoing and very playful, doesn't let her missing eye affect her attitude at all!
She loves all kinds of toys though her favorite is probably the plastic spring one!  And she is all snugs and cuddles sleeping close to the fosters (loves to be in the crook of your arm or next to your head) in the 2 foster homes she has been in.

More about Charity

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats

Sponsors: Joan Levine, Maryanne Flynn, Dan Dong, Jennifer Humphreys, Jennie Livingston

Special Needs: She's missing an eye, so of course it's nice to not "blindside" her but she is very well-adapted to the situation and will actually turn her head extra to use the good eye when she hears something of interest.

13thstcats.org is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit, No-Kill Rescue Group based in San Jose.

We try our best to match our cats to the perfect homes, and match them based on their personalities, not their looks. Adoptions are not done on a first come, first serve basis, rather in the order of what homes are the right match for that particular cat
