Description:

Becky is a very unique special needs cat.  She was rescued as a kitten, in Oct '07 with 5 siblings, left in a box at a rural post office. She and one other kitten had seizures; the other kitten died before we realized that low blood glucose was the key to most of their seizure issues.
Becky has survived, with help from some 13th St Cats angels.
She eats a mix of canned food heavily doped with corn syrup. She enjoys running around the house, exploring, and playing with her toys, even though she has limited vision.  She has had the maximum workups possible, including a Technetium scan looking for a liver shunt, blood work looking for a glucose storage issue, a blood culture, and a liver biopsy (while we were spaying her).  No diagnosis is able to determine why she cannot get glucose from normal cat food but we know that corn syrup controls the seizures, and no drugs are necessary.  She is quite a character, she knows how to speak her mind, and enjoys naps in sunny spots on the floor, and needs a forever home who would like a special needs kitty.
She can be visited at the foster home.
She can also be sponsored.
