Suzette is a short-haired tabby girl. She is a love and loves to snuggle with her person. She’s originally from Houston and lived in a home with other cats and dogs, but she’s enjoyed being an only cat in California. She’s just shy of 14 years old, but even the vet had trouble believing that. At her last check-up, he said he would guess she was about 8 based on her health and teeth.

This is quite the well-traveled, cosmopolitan cat! She’s flown from Houston to Cape Cod and back and last year made the trip from Houston to California. She’s far too urbane to settle for a regular car trip! Actually, this lady prefers her home, as long as there’s access to sunshine and, preferably, a grassy backyard to lounge in.

While I would love to have her around forever, my living situation no longer allows for it. She would do well with a home where people don’t mind loving on her and giving her a belly rub when she rolls over and demands one :) Until she’s completely comfortable, she may run and hide, but when she’s ready, she will happily accept any loves and snuggles.

An overgrown kitten at heart, Suzette will chase a rubber band around the room, given the opportunity. A tail chase is not out of the question either. She also loves to keep herself clean and will give you the stink-eye if you poke her in a spot she just finished cleaning (a fun game, I promise).

Suzette loves her people the best, but as noted before, she’s fine with other cats and dogs, too. She may express her displeasure at first, but she gets over it. She’s a snuggle bug and will let you pick her up and cuddle with her. She’ll climb into your lap if you leave it empty long enough….otherwise, she may just try to wedge her way in next to you. She’s happy with a sunny spot, but she enjoys a bit of outside time if possible. She sticks close to home and has never been a wanderer…she just wants that happy spot to sun herself. She’s always been good about her litter box and keeps things neat and clean, but she is a bit of a kicker and would do best with a taller box. She’s also enough of an indoor cat that she will come in from the outside to use the box before heading back out into the sun. She could use to lose a couple of pounds, but she’s not fat…she does have that funny belly pouch that swings back and forth when she runs, and it’s funny to watch :)

This gal has always wanted attention and love, to the point that she rolled all over her litter mates to get mine when she was a kitten. She knows how to warm your heart and make you love her…and her motorboat purr will confirm that for you, for sure.
