Casey Jones is a gorgeous long-haired flame-point kitty with amazing blue eyes.  He is fixed and chipped.  Several years ago, his right-rear leg and several inches of tail were amputated due to very severe injuries.  He doesn't usually let that bother him, and he gets around fairly well.  He needs to be an indoor-only cat, though.

He weighs less than eight pounds, in part due to the missing leg, but he is also a relatively small kitty.  He is an adult, at a guess somewhere between 6 and 8 years old.

He is talkative, but does not have the typical low-pitched Siamese voice.  He is particularly talkative when you are handing out chicken-flavored Temptations treats, or when you are putting down his wet food, which we usually mixed with extra water for him to lap up.  We re-introduced wet food when our vet noticed his weight was going down; it went back up again with the wet food added back in.

He generally does not like to sit in any human's lap, but he does like to sit right next to his people after he warms up to them.  He would often curl up on the couch next to me, or in a kitty bed right next to the couch.  He likes being brushed, but mostly on the cheeks and not on the belly where he can sometimes get mats.  He can be picked up, but usually he gets unhappy after a short period and wants to be put back on the floor.  He purrs when you pet him, and loves head scritchies.

The reason we are unable to provide a home for him is that he needs to be an only cat.  He simply does not get along consistently with the other cats in our household.  We have not had him around dogs or children, so we do not know how he acts around them.  I suspect he would like children, as he tends to approach us when we use higher-pitched voices, but that could be wishful thinking on my part.

He is good about using the litter box, and prefers it to be clean.

We would love to see him get into a loving home where he can be the only cat.

Contact info would be this email address, damp_dave@yahoo.com .  I would put any inquiries through to his foster mama, Pat, who has him now.
