Panther entered our rescue with his best friend, Tommy and quickly proved to be some of the darlingest, sweetest, biggest boys around. The two of them were best buds but sadly Tommy passed away March 2029.

Panther, while missing Tommy, is still extremely affectionate with humans and a real cuddler--he loves to snuggle with his foster. He loves to play, but is also content to just hang out in a warm spot by the window, or on the couch...or anywhere you are!

Panther is FIV+ and is not on medication.

FIV is an immune deficiency virus and is specific to cats. As such he cannot infect humans or any other species. It is not contagious among other cats either. It is not transmissible through casual contact such as sharing water bowls, food dishes, grooming, playing or sneezing. FIV is transmitted through blood from deep bite wounds. As long as a healthy life style is maintained and the cats are kept indoors, life expectancy is on par with cats without FIV.

Panther gets along well with other calm cats and dogs. But he would also be very happy being a solo kitty.

13thstcats.org is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit, No-Kill Rescue Group based in San Jose.

We try our best to match our cats to the perfect homes, and match them based on their personalities, not their looks. Adoptions are not done on a first come, first serve basis, rather in the order of what homes are the right match for that particular cat
