Pepper was born in a storm drainer in April 2022. When she was about 4 months she was trapped so she would be spayed. We tried to socialize her but she wasn’t doing progress, so after several weeks, we released her back outside with her mom. Pepper grew comfortable with us and learned from her mother that we weren’t that bad because we would bring them food daily. She turned into a love bug, showing her belly, but still cautious with pets. On a winter storm, she got hurt and we were worried because she would still go into the storm drain to rest. We were able to get her inside and she stayed in one of our rooms. She got better every day. She was hissy, but was more open to pets than before. After a week she was so comfortable and happy inside that I could not put her outside again. Although I would love to keep her, I have 3 adult cats, who are already too much for me. I will also move out of the country soon.

Pepper would do best in a quiet home, with just 1 or 2 human friends. She would benefit from a cat friend too; she seems to relax in the company of other cats. She needs someone who is cat savvy, has patience, and accepts that Pepper might never be a lap cat. She has the fluffiest fur on earth, and her meows are delightful.
