his is Billy. A young male with a clean bill of health, just under a year old.

In cat years, this means Billy is a teen-ager.

And you know how teenagers can be…they have tons of energy, are either chatty or quiet (he is both, depending on his mood), and they want to be the boss of themselves.

Much of the time Billy is quiet. He is happiest when sitting in front of a window screen with the breeze in his face, or has a catnip sock within paws reach.

He’s into affection when he’s in the mood for it. His fur is unusually soft and beautiful, which makes petting and face rubbies pleasurable for all involved.

He’s a lap-cat in training, and with time and encouragement, he’ll eventually get there. His teenage energy makes him antsy. But he has been known to lay against warm legs on cold nights.

His energetic flip-side turns on in the evenings.

He’ll race around a room like a race car driver, tagging you as he whips past!

He juggles toy mice and then loves digging under furniture in mouse-retrieval mode.

And he’ll dive face-first into his favorite bowl to grab another toy ball.

He’s hilarious and wide-eyed the whole time! Such silliness! Such entertainment!

Sometimes he’s bored though, like most teens (Mom! I’m bored!!!). He’ll tell you when he wants something…he’s a real talker at times.

He likes exploring cardboard box forts with peep hole cut-outs, playing tag under the sheets, or wrestling toes through the blankets. And he’ll want to check out every cupboard or drawer that gets opened.

Because of his teen angst, and his deep interest in the outdoors, Billy’s had a hard time finding just the right home. He’s tried twice, but we’ve come to the conclusion that apartment life is not for him.

He needs a residential home in a quiet neighborhood with a safe backyard that he can enjoy daily, preferably one with grass or a garden he can lounge in for a little while each day.

And… he needs trees and bushes near windows so he can watch the wildlife when he’s indoors.

He is completely comfortable on a leash, so he can be walked in a yard or neighbor's yards, (although, traffic noise is too scary for Billy, so sidewalks are not the best).

He wants to watch the butterflies flit past in peace, or pretend he’s going to sneak up on a crow taking a bath in a puddle.

His foster mommy and daddy say he’s a good boy and has never marked or scratched any of their furniture. He loves his extra-tall scratching post.

He has been coolheaded around other kitties, but has not hung out with doggies, so that’s an unknown.

Billy is waiting to play with you and have you run your fingers through his soft hair in the safety of your own home and yard.

He’ll be a lifetime buddy you’ll never want to let go of (especially when his hormones calm-the-heck down).

He’s a sweety…with a dose of sassy energy….which won’t last forever…get him while he’s still funny…before he gets a job and a beer belly and wants to sit home watching TV all night long.
