About Captain MacKenzie | |
|
|
Capt. Mackenzie still has a lot of kitten in him…he loves to play, chase the ribbon, throw toys in the air, and charge up and down hallways. He’s also deeply curious and loves to explore in and under things. He’s a hoot!
He’s also very smart.
Because he’s a smarty-pants, we’re teaching him tricks. In only a month, he’s learned “come,” “sit," “up” (on his hind legs), and “high five!” He’s also comfortable on a leash when he’s in a familiar backyard.
Capt. Mackenzie was shy at first but he is now taking naps on the bed and our laps too. He loves his chin rubbed. And purrs when being picked up.
He is vocal and an excellent communicator. After a while, you can easily understand what he’s asking for and what mood he’s in. His voice is very musical.
You may have noticed that his eyes are different colors. One is orange, the other is yellow. It’s due to an eye injury (The doc said he can still see fine). Musician David Bowie had the same eye injury and it helped make him look cool too. (Capt. Mackenzie is a cool dude.)
Just so you know, Mackenzie has FIV, but no worries…most cats with FIV live just like normal kitties.
Note: FIV is a kitty disease that can lower a cat's immune system. Many cats live full, happy lives with very few issues. FIV is passed from cat to cat when fighting ie: fluid exchange or a momma kitty can pass it along to her kittens when they are born.
