About Chrissy | |
|
|
Our senior, spayed, black, short haired with a lovely white undercoat, Chrissy, (short for Christmas – young daughters named her J) needs a new home. Chrissy is a love of a cat. She is outgoing and cuddly and is fine with most dogs as she grew up in a dog filled home. Chrissy and her sister Eve (eve passed years ago with a heart abnormality) came to us as kittens from Safe Haven Cat Rescue 18.5 years ago.
Chrissy currently has open and free access to the yard and loves her time outside in the sun. She spends her time both indoors and out as she decides. She climbs and hunts and is still quite active, although when it is dark, she sometimes needs help to get off the fence as I think perhaps her night vision is waning. She calls out for a helping hand.
Chrissy is friendly but as an older lady has some aches and pains so probably wouldn't tolerate well a home with young children again (she already raised hers and our daughters are adults now). She allows both my husband and I to pick her up (although we don’t have need of this often) and she is happy to receive any help she needs from us, like grooming etc.
She is chipped and fully litter box trained with only one accident her entire life - when she had a urinary tract infection.
In April 2021 Chrissy gave us a bit of a scare and we took her into the vet. They diagnosed early kidney concerns, so we got her on a medicated soft food right away and when she went for a checkup in November 2021 all signs of kidney distress were gone and her numbers were perfect once again. She has had no issues since. She is quite a trooper this one
Her current food regime is Royal Canin Veterinary Diet adult renal support E soft food that we buy in bulk cans from Chewey.com = $120/month and 2 Tablespoons of canned unsalted tuna every day. We don't eat any meat other than fish, and Chrissy is always happy to share some of our salmon or tuna
She sleeps in a little tent that she loves and comes with a heating pad for winter months as she is older and gets chilled. She sleeps with us every night but would adjust to any situation.
We love Chrissy dearly, and will miss her terribly. We are hoping to find her a loving home for her last years. All of her vet visits are up to date and all reports can be shared, and we are happy to have her blood work done again to ensure all is well with her.
Please reach out if you think that you or someone you know might be interested in our sweet Chrissy girl XOXO.
Chrissy is located in Mountain View. Contact mmperry10@gmail.com if you are interested in meeting Chrissy.
