About Suki | |
|
|
Suki is a wonderful, loving companion. Please read on for her details!
Basic Info
Name: Suki
Breed: Domestic shorthair
Sex: Spayed female
Color and markings: Brown/grey tabby stripes, blue eyes
Weight: 10.8 lbs as of 4/14/22
*Age is a guesstimate. I adopted her as a stray in 2011 from a shelter in Oakland. The vet believes she was a lost cat because she was extremely healthy, and estimated her to be around 2 years old then.
Personality/Behavior
- Indoor-only cat.
- Well house-trained to do her business in the litter box.
- Likes sitting in sun rays, on her cat tower or a warm lap, napping on arms and legs, being a loaf nearby while you watch tv or read, and hiding under the bed or a dark closet.
- Loves running for treats, and playing with shiny ribbons, catnip toys and track ball toy.
- Has the occasional zoomies at night, but otherwise relatively calm and sedentary during the day.
- A little bit of a scaredy cat with new visitors, but warms up quickly and gets talkative (her Siamese side coming out).
- Has rarely interacted with other cats. Based on past experience, she might prefer being the sole cat in her own home, but has been OK living with other cats if she goes to another home for visiting or cat sitting.
Incident History
In 2018, I brought Suki to a dental cleaning at South Bay Animal Hospital. The doctor alleged that Suki bit her finger and reported Suki to animal control. I was not present at the cleaning. I was never able to verify how the incident actually happened, and I believe the doctor was inexperienced if not negligent. Animal control came to assess Suki and found no risks and did not require quarantine or any other measures. From when I adopted Suki in 2011 to this day, she has never bitten me, family members, friends, workers in the home, cat sitters, other veterinarians or clinic personnel, or anyone else.
Medical History
Summary: Currently in great health for her age. She has had UTIs in the past from eating only dry food; no issues if she follows a dry/wet diet. When I adopted her in 2011, her front paws were already declawed.
- Latest vaccinations on 4/2/22
- FVR-C-P
- Rabies 3 year
- Annual exam, blood sample taken 4/12/22 (all normal)
Sadly, I’m seeking to rehome Suki because I am moving out of the country in late 2022 and cannot take her with me.If you’re interested in having Suki join your family, please contact me as soon as possible:
