I have two beautiful red tabbie cats and need to surrender them to loving homes, as I am moving into a permanent living situation which does not allow cats. These cats are more like my children than my pets, and I am anxious for both of them to find good, loving homes. Though I have had them both here with me together, it is best that they be adopted separately. One is a little boy I have had for about 3 years (he is 4 and a half years old), and the other is a little girl who is only one and a half. They are wonderful kitties, but there has been a lot of sibling rivalry between them...and my little boy is too rough-and-tumble in his play for my little girl to be comfortable! Both are current in shots and in good health, both have been neutered and have microchips and are not declawed (and I would prefer that they not be declawed, as I am sure you understand how inhumane this procedure is), and both have just gotten manicures before Christmas. They have similar personalities in that they are both very active, playful kitties. Tommy loves to play in boxes and paper bags and with cat-teasers. He is a real clown and a total sweetheart who has all the girls at his veterinarian's in love with him. He is a real conversationalist who loves to give his opinion on everything and is very expressive with his comments so you can almost tell exactly what he is saying! He is also quite sociable, loves to be around people and is the life of the party. If you have friends over, it is a certainty that he will join the crowd and settle in to be part of the gathering. He would probably be all right with older children and adults, but maybe not with very young children.  He would prefer to be an only cat, so he doesn't have to share your attention with anyone else! When I lived in the country, he was able to go in and outside (which he loved, as he is a great hunter and used to bring me presents of mice and moles  . These I had to surreptitiously toss, since he couldn't understand why I wasn't thrilled about having them for dinner!), but now that I have been in Santa Clara close to busy streets  I have kept him indoors. He would probably love an indoor-outdoor situation, as long as there were no speeding cars or predators about. He is an absolutely gorgeous guy and is guaranteed to be the "king of your heart" in no time flat. Tommy loves to nosh on dry food during the day, but also enjoys a small can of "Fancy Feast" in the mornings if he can get it. He's very persnickety about his food (well, he is royalty, after all!), and prefers the shredded or "grilled" versions, since he dislikes the mushy stuff . Tommy is very respectful of your space, and likes that you respect his as well. He will give his favorite humans "love bites followed by kisses", and once you have made your way into his heart, you may discover him cuddling up to you at night and letting you rub his tummy!

My little girl is called Lily. She is only about one and a half, and was found wandering the streets of Sunnyvale. The scratch in her left eye doesn't bother her, but hints at a mysterious past. This little girl has had to fend for herself, but that hasn't stopped her from being incredibly sweet and lovable. She purrs like a little motorboat, and loves to cuddle with you. She loves to sleep in bed, and be warned that if you evict her, she will only wait for you to fall asleep before sneaking back up to curl up as close as she can get to her favorite person - you! She also likes to steal the pillows if she gets the chance ! Lily loves to nibble on feet and toes that are poking up from the blankets, as she finds these to be irresistible. Her favorite games are with cat-teasers and especially playing with "laser lights". She will keep you entertained for hours just to watch her chasing and trying to catch the bobbing light, or to watch her acrobatics as she goes after the dangling teaser! Lily also loves little toy mice that she can bat around and pretend that she is capturing! She is a very affectionate and loving kitty, and will follow you around to make sure you don't get lonely while you do your chores around the house . Where Tommy is quite a conversationalist, Lily doesn't talk very much, other than to emit an occasional "squeak". She can get caught up with her fantasies of being a lion on the Serengeti, so she would not be good with children. Lily needs a loving home where she can feel secure and loved, and whose human companions can be both gentle and firm with her when she gets overly stimulated. She loves dry food, but will be polite if you serve her canned food and pretend to eat a few bites so as not to hurt your feelings. Lily will also give love bites followed by kisses, but as she was probably not raised with humans, she is still learning to be a little gentler in showing her affection.

Whoever gets these two little children will be very lucky. They are both complete sweethearts, and it is breaking my heart to have to part with them. I am including a few pictures so you can see what they look like. My sister was going to initially take them, but is now unable to do so. If you can help at all with finding them loving homes, I would be completely grateful.
