Meet Angus — A Lover Learning to Love
Angus didn't have an easy road to get here, but he's making up for lost time.
This handsome boy is believed to be a former stray who was abandoned after being socialized early in life — and that early foundation never fully left him. Within just a couple of weeks of patient, gentle care, the skittish, defensive tomcat he arrived as has given way to a sweet guy who actively seeks out chin scritches and nightly brushing sessions.
He's still on his own timeline — he's not quite ready to be picked up yet — but he's making remarkable progress and the trust he's building is real. For the right adopter who enjoys meeting a cat where he is, there's something special about being the person he chooses to open up to.
He came to us with a few hitchhikers — a URI, calicivirus, tapeworms, and fleas — all of which have been treated. He's also freshly neutered and recovering beautifully. Angus is fully vaccinated (3-year Rabies & FVRCP), microchipped, and FIV+.
What FIV+ means for Angus: FIV+ cats can live long, healthy, normal lives. The virus is not easily transmitted — it cannot be passed to humans or dogs, and poses minimal risk to other cats in a stable, non-fighting household.
Angus's love language? Churu. Crunchy treats. And being brushed like the dignified gentleman he clearly believes himself to be.
Angus would thrive as:
- The sole cat in a calm, loving home
- A companion in an existing FIV+ cat household
If you're looking for a cat with a little history and a lot of heart, Angus is ready to show you what he's got.
