Meet Rue McClanahan A Spunky Little Spitfire! Rue was named after the late actress Rue McClanahan because she is a spunky, lively little spitfire, who sees what she wants, and goes after it. Stand back! Rue was surrendered to the San Jose Shelter when she was but 4 weeks old. Even in that scary environment, Rue was not the least bit intimidated. She loudly meowed until she drew the attention of a rescuer, then she slid her paw through the slats of the cage, and began flirting, as only Rue knows how to do. J To say that Rue is playful is a bit of an understatement. When Rue gets wound up, she is a spitfire! She runs, jumps, trounces, attacks, arches her back and does the sideways hop, delivers strong rabbit kicks, and chases over and over again. Her favorite antic, however, is to hide around the corner, and wiggle her butt, waiting for an unsuspecting feline passerby. Then she attacks, often times flipping on her back and then racing off with a flick on her tail. Rue is looking for an active home and definitely needs another kitten for company and companionship. Rue is like the energizer bunny she keeps going, and going, and going- and going, and going, and going! She absolutely needs another kitten to play with until she is worn out. And she still needs to learn her social limits, so best to let a kitten do that. Rue is just fine with dogs. As a matter of fact, a dog's tail makes a wonderful play wand, just the right height for Rue to sit on her hind legs and bat at. J Rue will chase after the dog, and bat at its tail, and then when she is finally exhausted, Rue will curl up beside the dog and take a little cat nap. Too cute!
