The family that found Rufus told his foster family:

"We met Rufus when he was enjoying sardines set in a humane trap intended to catch & fix his mom.

Rufus was too little to be fixed himself - and he was so friendly & talkative that we decided to foster him so he could join a family once he is old enough.

Rufus had been living in a group of 30 stray cats in a parking lot adjacent to a middle school. He was in the second litter of kittens his mom had before she was even a year old.

The man who feeds these cats knew that two of Rufus's litter mates had died, and believed that there were no surviving kittens. So Rufus was a wonderful surprise.

We are still working to get his mom fixed so that she and her kittens won't have to struggle anymore."

From his foster family:

Rufus is an amazing kitten! He is very snuggly and very inquisitive. He loves to run, jump and play, but will magically appear on your lap or head while you watch tv.

He really likes friendly older cats too! He follows them around and tries to get them to play with him. Some of them do, some of them don't, but he sure does try.

Rufus is absolutely adorable and we hope to find him a home where he will become a super-loveable part of your family. He is very special!
